Hi.

Here are my picks. Hopefully they will become yours too.

Rubicon Trail in Lake Tahoe

Rubicon Trail in Lake Tahoe

I have been fortunate enough to hike the Rubicon Trail twice. It's one of my favorite hikes. (Top 3 I would even say.) Round trip it's about 8 miles. You can do half the hike if you park one car at the Vikingsholm entrance and another car at the Rubicon Trail entrance. The scenery is just breathtaking. I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

This is at the beginning of the trail. The first time I did this hike, I saw a bear right here!

There are some huge rocks for you to stop at and eat lunch.

You can also camp here, which is what I plan on doing next time.

At the Vikingsholm entrance. (This is where I was saying you can finish if you only want to do half the hike.)

The next time you head to Lake Tahoe, make this hike a priority on your list of things to do. Here are some tips: Bring lunch and/or snacks, water, sunscreen, and a bathing suit! Parking can be a pain in the a on the weekends, so plan on going early and not at noon when everyone else is.
