It's one thing to visit and explore some place new. It's a whole other experience to visit a place where the person has wanted to go there their whole lives and then ultimately work, live, and retire there. That would be Nike Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon for Cody. I am a big city person. No suburbs for me. The bigger the city, the better. Or so I thought... This city way exceeded my expectations. Yes, it much smaller than SF and NY, but for its size it had so much to offer. GREAT food. The public transportation was the easiest. I could walk to anything. Literally anything. AWESOME shopping. (Hello? Tory Burch and Kate Spade stores.) And the people... the nicest. Portland is quite the little gem.
So NOT a fan of mini cooper planes.
The Benson Hotel (almost all presidents starting from William H. Taft have stayed here!)
The cozy room I worked from every morning. (The leopard stool and zebra chairs were a little unexpected.)
Downtown in the mist
Off to Beaverton!
Walking to our first point of contact (one of the sweetest ladies we've ever met)
Kid statues on campus
Waiting to meet our second contact.
One of many fields on campus
Getting our workout on.
A Japanese garden resembling a partnership.
Walking over the bridge in the Japanese garden.
Practice makes perfect.
My favorite soccer player of all time.
Ken Griffey Jr. building!
And the Jerry Rice building! Win it for Jerry!
Inside the T Woods building. Obviously.
Cody looking mini with Ronaldo
Cody's defending skills.
I hung with the cuite pie for a bit (while Cody was checking out EVERY detail on the campus)
This guy too.
Walking (We did LOTS of it. This campus is huge. SO many fuel points ;))
It looks kind of surreal.
Cody and I's future? Growing old at the Nike campus? :/
Finally made it to the employee store. (We shopped with Misty May-Treanor!)
Until next time Portland, because there will be one...
